Bihar has never been a victim of resort politics: RJD MP Manoj Jha

Patna: The political developments in Maharashtra have fuelled speculation of a possible split in Bihar’s ruling coalition. However, party leaders deny these allegations. RJD MP Manoj Jha ruled out a possible break-up in Bihar, saying Bihar has never indulged in “resort politics” and it will be the “base of opposition unity.” The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader also said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not in the race for the opposition’s prime ministerial face, and added that the effort is towards providing a “progressive agenda” against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s politics.

Bihar has never been a victim of resort politics: Manoj Jha

“Bihar has never been a victim of resort politics, even if there has been a change, it has happened very smoothly,” said Manoj Jha. This is the face of democracy. I want to tell them. Don’t worry, Bihar is safe and opposition unity will form its base. ‘ In the recent split in Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), party leaders including Ajit Pawar joined the BJP-Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) alliance in Maharashtra. Since then, several Bihar BJP leaders have been making statements predicting a split in the ruling Janata Dal (United).

Bihar will be at the forefront of establishing opposition unity: Manoj Jha

“I can assure you that Bihar will be at the forefront of events leading to greater opposition unity and setting a positive agenda against the BJP. I can read the Prime Minister’s face, he is a worried man. They are right to be worried. For the first time, the halo around them is shaking. ‘ Asked about the possibility of Nitish Kumar being the prime ministerial face of the opposition and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav becoming the chief minister of Bihar, Jha said these are speculations.

Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav will play a key role: MP Manoj Jha

“There was no opposition face in 1977, there was no face in 2004.” Look at the BJP, one face is supreme. Cabinet doesn’t matter. Do we want such a situation? The fight is between these two options, and both Nitish ji and Tejashwi will play a major role. But the idea is not to look at personal satisfaction. ‘ The Janata Dal-United (JD-U), which broke its alliance with the BJP in Bihar last year and joined hands with the RJD, has been playing an active role in bringing opposition parties together ahead of next year’s general elections.

Sitting as Opposition in Bihar a nightmare for BJP: Manoj Jha

Manoj Jha said the coming to power of the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar and the recent opposition meeting in Patna were “nightmares” for the BJP, fuelling such speculation. He also took a dig at the Prime Minister for forming an alliance with leaders whom he had called corrupt in the past. RJD MP Manoj Jha said, “It is really sad that the Prime Minister of the country makes some statements about the corrupt leaders of a political party in Bhopal. Within 72 hours, one of them was named deputy CM. This has become the new modus operandi of Modi ji and BJP.
