Hyundai Exter: a Game-Changer in the Growing Micro SUV Segment

New Delhi. The market for compact SUVs is growing rapidly in the country. Even the once unpopular micro SUVs in this segment are now gaining popularity among people. An example of this is the Tata Punch, which has been experiencing record sales since its launch. People are eagerly waiting for months to get their hands on this car. Seeing this trend in the micro SUV segment, Hyundai has also made a big move. However, Hyundai’s move is being seen as a modest and short-term success mantra. The company has introduced its micro SUV, Exter, in the market. The price has been set in a way that makes it difficult for competitors to match. But what makes this car stand out even more are the features it offers, which are at par or even better than those of premium cars.

While Tata has also provided many features in the base model of the Punch and its 5-star safety rating makes it special, the safety features and build quality of the Exter are equally impressive. Hyundai claims that Exter will not compromise on safety ratings compared to any other car in the future, and the company has made no compromises on customer safety in this car.

Now, let’s talk about the Exter base model, EX, which is available at a showroom price of 5.99 lakh rupees. Although you may find some cosmetic features lacking in this model, you won’t miss out on any essential features. The base model comes with a plethora of safety features, including 6 airbags and 3-point adjustable seat belts. Additionally, you’ll get central locking, speed sensing door lock, remote key, child lock, isofix child seat, and a roll cage, among other safety features.

Furthermore, the base model includes front power windows, a fully digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs, LED tail lights, DRLs, and a special sunroof.

What won’t be included are LED headlights, instead, you’ll have halogen headlights, and the front grill won’t have a gloss finish. The car won’t come with rear washer and wiper. Roof rails, body-colored door handles, and ORVMs won’t be visible either. The infotainment system is also absent, as well as body cladding.

In summary, the Exter base model provides an excellent value proposition with a wide range of safety features and other essential amenities at an attractive price point.
