Hyundai Unveils Powerful Ioniq 5 N: a Supercar Performance in an Electric Package

New Delhi. Hyundai has unveiled the performance variant of its latest electric car, the Ioniq 5, called the Ioniq 5 N. The company has increased its power significantly by using an additional electric motor in this car. Hyundai claims that the car features an N Grin Boost mode. Besides the performance upgrades, some cosmetic updates have also been made to the exterior and interior of the Ioniq 5 N.

Currently, Hyundai is selling the standard model of the Ioniq 5 in the Indian market, priced at 44.95 lakhs INR (ex-showroom). This car is equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack, offering 217 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the N variant is so powerful that it surpasses cars like the Toyota Fortuner and Scorpio.

It matches the power of five Scorpios Talking about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, the car is equipped with two electric motors, providing a maximum power output of 609 horsepower. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. In comparison, the classic variant of the Mahindra Scorpio generates a maximum power of 130 horsepower. This means that the Ioniq 5 N is as powerful as five Scorpio SUVs combined.

The top speed of the Ioniq 5 N is 260 kmph. To deliver this power, the car uses an 84 kWh battery pack, which makes it significantly more powerful than the standard variant. Hyundai claims that with the help of a 350 kW DC fast charger, the car can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: Features The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N comes with ten speakers to give it a supercar-like feel. Eight speakers are placed inside the car, while two speakers are positioned outside. The external speakers emit sound similar to that of a performance car when the vehicle is in motion. The speakers have three sound modes: Ignition, Evolution, and Supersonic. In Ignition mode, the sound of a turbo-petrol engine is simulated, while Evolution mode emits the sound of an electric vehicle. In Supersonic mode, the car produces the sound of a twin-fighter jet engine.
