OnePlus, one of the leading smartphone companies, may launch its first foldable smartphone in the coming months. The company announced this during the Cloud 11 launch event in February. It could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and have an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch external screen.
It could come with a triple rear camera setup in a circular module. Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) claims that this smartphone will rival the Huawei Mate X3. It could be available in golden, green, and black colors. At the beginning of this week, tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) leaked an image of the OnePlus V Fold in black leather finish. It showed a power button with an alert slider on the right corner of the display. The power button may also include a fingerprint scanner.
In addition, this smartphone appeared to have a circular rear camera module with three sensors. The OnePlus V Fold may feature a periscope camera with high-quality optical zoom support. The inner display could have a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera on the left side, while the external screen may have a similar centered cutout. A previous report suggested that it may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The inner screen of this smartphone could be an 8-inch quad-HD+ OLED, while the external screen could be full HD+.
The triple rear camera setup may include a 50-megapixel main camera and two 32-megapixel cameras.
Earlier this month, the company launched the OnePlus Nord N30 5G in the United States. It is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and supports 50W SuperVOOC wired fast charging with its 5,000mAh battery. It is available in a single color option and comes with one storage variant. The smartphone features a 6.72-inch full HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It also features a 16-megapixel front camera.
