Jaisalmer: A private school bus overturned near Bhainsda village under Sankara police station area of Jaisalmer district today. More than 35 students were injured in the accident. The driver and conductor of the bus were seriously injured. The children were going to school in a school bus. The bus overturned in the middle of the road and the children in it were seriously injured. More than a dozen critically injured children have been referred to hospitals in Jodhpur and PokhranThe injured are being treated at Sankara-Bhaisada and Pokaran hospitals. According to the police, there were more children than the capacity of the bus. The accident occurred due to overloading of the bus. The accident took place when the children were on their way to school from a private school in Bhaisada village. The driver and a passenger were seriously injured. The police officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered against the accused and a probe has begun. receiving the news of the incident, ASP Dinesh Kumar, CO Arun Kumar, Tehsildar Radhey Shyam Sharma, and Station Inspector Satyendra Kumar reached the village with police and PAC. He inspected the spot. The SP took information from the ASP and the CO along with the officials of the transport department and directed them to investigate the matter seriously. One student was killed in the incident. The 11 injured are being treated at the MDM Hospital in Jodhpur. District Collector Himanshu Gupta and Divisional Commissioner also reached the hospital and took feedback of the treatment arrangements.
There have been many accidents in the last few years within Rajasthan due to the arbitrariness of private school bus operators. Without taking lessons from these incidents, school administrators play with the lives of innocent children in a bid to make the most of them. A large number of children are seated inside the bus, due to which children become victims of accidents due to overload.
Before the accident, an unruly bus collided with a tractor-trolley near 54 miles on Jaisalmer highway under Shergarh police station area. There were 25 passengers in the bus. The condition of one of them is stated to be serious. The passengers were rescued with the help of villagers who broke the glass of the bus. According to Station House Officer Devendra Singh, the injured passengers have been admitted to a government hospital in Balesar, from where eight to ten passengers have been sent home after treatment.
