Delhi. Yamuna continues to wreak havoc for the last 48 hours. The ever-increasing water level has increased the atmosphere of fear among the people. Schools, colleges and universities have also been ordered to be closed till Sunday, while Section 144 has been imposed in many areas. The administration is also helping the people trapped on the way. People are also being rescued in flood-affected areas. On the other hand, Delhi Police personnel were engaged in safely evacuating people trapped in water in North Delhi, Shantivan Chowk late at night.
An attempt has also been made to open 5 jam gates of the barrage of ITO Bridge around 1:30 am on Thursday. Regional leader Saurabh Bhardwaj was also present on the occasion. He said that if these gates are opened, then the water coming from Wazirabad will come out from here, which will reduce the water level in Delhi.
