Bihar’s Rising Star, Mukesh Kumar, Makes Debut in International Cricket for Team India

Gopalganj. After Ishan Kishan, another cricketer from Bihar, Mukesh Kumar, has got the opportunity to make his debut in international cricket. He has become the 308th Test player for the Indian team, and this is his first match in his career. Mukesh is a right-arm fast bowler and hails from the village of Kakadkund in Gopalganj. There is a wave of joy among his relatives and villagers as he has been selected for the Test match being played between India and the West Indies in Port of Spain. DM Dr. Naval Kishor Chaudhary has also congratulated and wished Mukesh Kumar on his Test debut.

In fact, Mukesh Kumar spent his childhood in a small village called Kakadkund in Gopalganj. In the early days, he used to play cricket in the streets of the village, but today, he has reached a stage where every cricketer aspires to be. Mukesh’s family, including his mother Malati Devi, elder brother Dhanchet alias DN Singh, and his uncle-nephew, resides in his home.

Coming from an ordinary family, cricketer Mukesh Kumar has got the opportunity to make his debut in international cricket for the first time. Therefore, his mother, Malati Devi, is very happy. She said that she wishes Mukesh performs well for the Indian team and blesses him with her prayers. Mukesh Kumar’s late father, Kashinath Singh, used to drive an auto in Bengal and took care of the household. His elder brother Dhanchet alias DN Singh said that he and the entire neighborhood are delighted that Mukesh Kumar has got the opportunity to debut in international matches.

His fate changed with his engagement when he was selected for Team India for the West Indies tour. Mukesh’s family members say that he had an inclination towards cricket since childhood. He had a keen desire to work hard and progress in the sport. Recalling his childhood days, it was around 2004 when Mukesh’s mother, Malati Devi, suddenly fell ill and had to go to Kolkata for treatment, where his father used to drive taxis. He used to work in a transport company. While playing cricket in Bengal, Mukesh got a chance to interact with Ranji player Ranjit Bose and Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly praised Mukesh Kumar’s bowling and encouraged him to play in the Ranji Trophy, which motivated him to improve his bowling and progress steadily. Following his excellent performances, he became a part of India A team and later got selected for the Indian team in the match against India-A and New Zealand, where he took 5 wickets for 36 runs in 13 overs. After his outstanding performances, he became a part of the Indian team in December 2022. Later, Delhi Capitals bought him in the IPL auction for a whopping 5 crores.

Mukesh’s close friend and captain of the Gopalganj cricket team, Amit Singh, says that if India finishes their batting and West Indies comes to bat, Mukesh Kumar will get the opportunity to bowl. Everyone is hoping that Mukesh’s bowling will be exceptional, and they are all focusing on Mukesh Kumar’s bowling since this is his first international match in his career.
